Obituary :Archbishop Peter Takeo Okada

Archbishop Peter Takeo Okada, Archbishop Emeritus of Tokyo, passed away at Tokyo Medical and Dental University Medical Hospital at 1:22 p.m. on Friday, December 18 from hemorrhagic shock due to cervical esophageal cancer(Throat Cancer). He was 79 years old. Please pray for his eternal rest. Funeral announcement will be made later.

During his lifetime, he held President of The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Japan, a member of Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, Director of The Logos Library for the Blind, etc.
