Archbishop

Tarcisius Isao Kikuchi, S.V.D., Archbishop of Tokyo

“I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.’.” (Matthew 25:35-36)

Jesus’ words and deeds are full of compassion and love. Such compassion and love are expressed in reality through visible signs by the church community. The church community is a place where our hearts find peace. Just as God, who has given us His gift of life, treasures all life without exception, the church community must also strive to reach out to all people, especially those in difficult situations and those whose lives are in danger, and to seek to become an abode that concretely manifests the heart of God who loves each and every one of us.

Let us all feel the love and compassion of God in our church community!
